This is why Bradford, Yorkshire Is an amazing investment opportunity

Bradford in West Yorkshire might not be the first place that springs to mind when you think about property investment, but the city actually represents great value for money and offers an exciting opportunity.

Bradford has a population of just over half a million people and is well located, a mere 16 miles away from the financial powerhouse of Leeds. Bradford has excellent transport links. It’s easy to access the major cities that surround Bradford, the south of England via the M1 motorway, and destinations further afield by flying from Leeds Bradford international airport, a mere 6 miles from the city centre.

As a former textile producing city, Bradford’s wealth means that the city has a great many architectural highlights, with areas such as Little Germany containing magnificent buildings. The city also boasts many cultural attractions, with the National Science and Media Museum featuring 8 floors of galleries and 3 cinemas including the UK’s first IMAX. Bradford is actually the world’s first UNESCO City of Film.

Perhaps of more interest to potential investors is the city’s resurgent economy. Whilst Bradford was undoubtedly hit hard during the de-industrialisation of the north of England, the city’s economy is now one of the strongest in the region and worth over £9.5bn – the eighth largest in England.

Bradford’s economy is developing at a rapid pace and is predicted to grow by around 25% over the next decade. One of the key sectors driving growth is finance, with financial companies like Santander UK, Yorkshire Building Society and Provident Financial all based in the city. Other large businesses are thriving, with companies such as Morrisons supermarket and Yorkshire Water having headquarters in the city.

Bradford is going through a period of major regeneration that will attract greater interest and investment. A project targeting The City Centre Growth Zone has seen £35 million invested, with the goal of supporting new and existing businesses as they develop and contribute to Bradford’s overall economy.

Property in the city represents amazing value for money, being cheaper than nearby Leeds and significantly cheaper than the vastly overinflated prices in the south and especially London. Land for development also offers great value with a large amount of prime land for sale in Bradford. Last year Bradford was judged to be one of the most affordable cities in the UK, alongside Liverpool and Conwy.

So what are you waiting for? Now is the time to invest in Bradford!
